SECRETARY’S MESSAGE

Warm greetings from the Philippines.

As the Chair of ASEAN in 2026, the Philippines is honoured to lead our region under “Navigating Our Future, Together” as our theme. This theme reflects our shared commitment to solidarity, resilience, and forward-looking cooperation as we look ahead towards the challenges and opportunities of the global energy transition. Our regional energy agenda must move beyond ambition toward implementation to unlock innovation, investment, and delivering impact for our people and economies.

It is with great pleasure to officially launch the 26th ASEAN Energy Business Forum, or AEBF-26, that will be held in Manila, in conjunction with the 44th ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM) and its Associated Meetings.

The AEBF-26 will position the ASEAN energy sector as strategic backbone for regional integration, economic transformation, and inclusive growth by mobilizing partnerships and investment. This direction reflects our collective aspiration to translate ASEAN’s energy vision into innovative, bankable projects, strengthening our ability to deliver a secure, resilient, and just and inclusive transition in ASEAN.

The AEBF-26 shall serve as the flagship ASEAN energy-business platform, providing a vital bridge between policymakers, industry leaders, financiers, and innovators to enable dialogue, collaboration, and concrete opportunities for our shared future.

To the national, regional, and global energy stakeholders: I warmly invite you to Manila in September 2026 to be part of the ASEAN energy future. ASEAN warmly welcomes all energy leaders, solution providers, and partners, critical for our region.

Together, let us unlock clean energy opportunities, accelerate innovation, and drive investments that will shape a stronger and more sustainable energy future for ASEAN. I look forward to welcoming you in Manila!
